Discover Jesus’ Birth…and Yours
Isaiah 9:6-7a
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end…
John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
According to these scriptures – to whom was Jesus given? By Whom? And for what purpose?
In this week’s message we were reminded of the Carol lyrics: O holy Child of Bethlehem. Descend to us, we pray. Cast out our sin and enter in. Be born in us today. How do we apply these beautiful lyrics to our lives and become Born Again?
John 1:12-13

John 3:3-8
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
Romans 10:9-13
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame”… —the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
What do these scriptures teach you about what it means to be born again? And the benefits that it brings to our lives?
In this week’s message we were taught ‘that the Child laid in that stable… is also meant to be laid in the manger of our hearts.’ And that like all of human history was evermore marked by the coming of Christ – we too can have our very own BC/AD experience – when the Child who changed the world changes us!
Galatians 4:4-7 (TPT)
But when the time of fulfillment had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, …that we would receive our… full legal adoption as his children. God released the Spirit of Sonship into our hearts—moving us to cry out intimately, “My Father! My true Father!” …[as] God’s very own sons and daughters! –
Colossians 1:27
God has chosen to make known… the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Romans 8:29
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
